New Song Showcase — 2006

CONGRATULATIONS WINNERS & ALTERNATES! Here is a list of the WINNERS and the ALTERNATES for this years 2006 NewSongs Showcase at the Walnut Valley Festival and YOUR SONG was chosen from well over 200 entries from a host of top notch judges from all over the country.

Only two songs per category were selected. These esteemed judges (who will remain anonymous) are professionals in the 'folk/bluegrass industry', award winning songwriters, nationally known folk DJ's, music teachers, professional musicians and producers. They all agreed that the competition was tough this year!

These twenty winning songs will be performed at the festival showcase (10) on Thursday and (10) on Saturday.. if the winner is unavailable then the ALTERNATE will move into the winning position. ONLY those who perform in the showcase will receive the recognition and the medallion.

We ask that you arrive for the showcase at least 30 minutes early to make sure you are in tune and ready to roll. If you are an alternate and the winner is not available than you will take his or her place in the showcase! The early arrival time will help us decipher who is available and who is not. Also we ask that you stick around till the end of the showcase as we will get a group photo that will go in the Walnut Valley Occasional and after the showcase there will be a table set up for you to sell your product if you choose. (Don't forget to bring change!)
