Camping: Preregistration, Lineup & Land Rush Information

WE’VE HEARD YOU

Lineup will take place when Walnut Valley Festival camping rates go into effect—September 7 this year. This will reduce the time between Lineup and Land Rush, reducing overall costs for campers electing to take part in Lineup.

For camping Preregistration, we will reduce the number of spots available in some rows. In Pecan, we will add 2 rows to compensate for this reduction. The total number available in West will be reduced, but not below the number of preregistrations typically received. Be aware that this will cause those individual rows to be filled quicker during preregistration, but it will also allow us to condense the Lineup schedule and reduce the amount of time it takes to get everyone processed.

In addition, while cash & checks may still be used during preregistration for those choosing to register in person or by mail, all fees paid on grounds to WALNUT VALLEY must be paid with a credit or debit card. CASH & CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED ON GROUNDS DURING LINEUP OR AT THE TICKET TRAILER PRIOR TO AND DURING FESTIVAL.

Lining Up For Land Rush

PREREGISTRATION: 8AM Monday, July 1 – Sunday, July 7

(This process is NOT required for camping at the Walnut Valley Festival and should be ignored by any patrons who do not wish to take part in BOTH Lineup AND Land Rush)

You may preregister for Land Rush by prepaying WVF rough camping fees for 1 camping spot ($225 + service fees) per transaction. This fee covers camping without electricity for Walnut Valley for 15 days (September 7 – 21) at $15 per day. Electricity is not available during preregistration but will be available to purchase upon arrival to grounds.

At the time of preregistration, you will be able to select an available row or the system will assign you to the earliest available (see first note below): A-D for West, A-H for Pecan. This Row will be noted on your receipt email which will come from ETIX. All rows will have 50 spots available per campground.

We will take preregistrations by mail-in forms as well, but you will be placed in the earliest row remaining when we enter your registration in the system. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked from June 28- July 7 to be accepted and will be entered into the system in the order received. Completed forms may also be dropped off at our office during regular business hours (M-F: 9am-12pm, 1pm-5pm) while preregistration is open. Please note that no mail or walk-in registrations will be entered before 1pm on July 1.

In early August, preregistered campers will receive a message (by email if provided, by regular mail for others) with their Row Assignment Form and more specific instructions including their assigned time for Lineup on September 7. THIS FORM MUST BE PRINTED BEFORE ARRIVAL AND DISPLAYED PROMINANTLY AT LINEUP. Be sure to verify that hq@wvfest.com is on your email’s safe sender list to ensure delivery.

Please Note

  • Spots become unavailable when placed in a person’s cart and return to the available inventory if the purchase is not completed. As a result, rows that previously showed they were full may reopen as spots return to the inventory.
  • While preregistering early does improve your chances of being able to get a spot in the first rows, it is not guaranteed.
  • Campers will be asked to provide the Name (First and Last), City, State, and Phone Number for the person who will be using the permit during checkout. This information will be required in addition to the contact information for the purchaser that relates to the credit/debit card used.
  • Do Not Preregister unless you intend to take part in BOTH Lineup AND Land Rush. Preregistration fees pay for rough camping starting on September 7 and will not be refunded (part or whole) if you don’t arrive at that time.
  • Campers who are unable or elect not to preregister are still welcome to come participate in Lineup. Anyone who did not preregister will be placed at the end of the Pecan Grove or West Campground lines after all preregistered rows are processed.

Lineup: Saturday, September 7
Starting At 7am

Arrival times will be staggered (30-minute intervals) based on the row and selected campground. Pecan and West rows will alternate arrival times (for example: Pecan A- 7am, West A- 7:30am, Pecan B- 8am, etc.). At the designated time for each row, campers will be checked in by WVF personnel and directed to park in an area corresponding to their row assignment. This is where they will remain until Land Rush and campers may put down tarps to hold that spot.

After being parked, ALL campers must proceed to the designated pre-pay station in Barn 4 (contest stage) on grounds to receive their required Land Rush hang tag. Also, campers who are hooked up to electricity in line must pay their WVF electric fees at this time. Campers who wish to purchase electric permits, but are NOT hooked up in line, may do so at this time or when they return for Land Rush. NEW IN 2024: All fees must be paid by credit or debit card. Cash & Checks will not be accepted in Barn 4 during Lineup or at the Ticket Trailer. Camping permits may also be picked up in Barn 4 at this time. Be aware that ID is required, and all permits must be signed for by either the person who purchased them or the person whose name is on them to be picked up. Walnut Valley is not responsible for lost or stolen permits that were picked up.

Assigning of Land Rush Numbers

Please Note

  • Anyone not leaving their Land Rush unit in the line should plan to leave something taking enough space for them to pull their unit into that space.
  • Preregistered campers who are not present (or have someone present on their behalf) at their designated time for Lineup will still be considered as having their fees paid, but they will forfeit their designated row and be placed at the end of the line when they arrive.
  • Campers who did not preregister and wish to take part in Lineup may arrive 2pm-6pm on Saturday, September 7 to be processed at the Ticket Trailer. The Ticket Trailer will also be open daily, 8am-6pm, starting on Sunday, September 8 until the day before Land Rush and will remain open around the clock the night before Land Rush to accommodate campers arriving to get in line.
  • Vehicle Permits left at the Ticket Trailer after Lineup must be attached in the presence of on-duty Walnut Valley Festival personnel when they are received.
  • Anyone already in line must have their Land Rush hang tags and camping permits picked up BY SEPTEMBER 11 AT 5PM.
  • All vehicles must be removed from the Pecan Grove and West Campground by 8am, Tuesday, September 10.

Land Rush: Thursday, September 12
Starting At 7am

IMPORTANT: If you are already in line and do not yet have your Land Rush hang tag and/or WVA camping permits, be sure and arrive before Wednesday, September 11 at 5pm in order to receive them.

On Thursday, September 12, at 7am, WVA staff will signal the start of Land Rush allowing campers to proceed, in order, from the staging areas into the West and Pecan Grove campgrounds and claim their spot.  All vehicles taking part in Land Rush must have a Land Rush hang tag. Vehicles without a Land Rush hang tag or arriving after we start will proceed to the campgrounds after completion of the Land Rush.

Land Rush begins and campers are off to claim a camping spot.

Please Note

  • Only one unit (camper, trailer, etc.) may be connected to a towing vehicle during Land Rush.
  • Everyone taking part in Land Rush should plan to be present at their camper in line by 5am on Land Rush day.
